FUJAIRAH: The Fujairah Tourism and Antiquities Department has launched a groundbreaking new book, The Archaeology and History of Fujairah, authored by Dr. Michele Ziolkowski.

The book launched under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, is a comprehensive examination of the Emirate's rich archaeological history, spanning from the Paleolithic era to the mid-20th century.

Dr. Michele Ziolkowski expressed her gratitude to the Crown Prince for the opportunity to research and write this book, stating, "Fujairah has a rich and varied archaeological heritage deeply connected with the natural environment."  

Saeed Al Samahi, Director General of the Tourism & Antiquities Department, Fujairah, added, "The Archaeology and History of Fujairah presents material evidence of Fujairah's varied archaeological heritage and is a significant addition to the nation's archaeological research."

The book is the second installment in the Natural History of Fujairah series, initiated by the Fujairah Environment Authority. It meticulously follows Fujairah’s chronology and archaeological development featuring previously unpublished archaeological findings, including details of the Paleolithic site at Jebel Kaf Addor.
